When distilling our gold-winning tequila, we set out to do things differently. Octavio Tequila’s reposados are aged twice as long as traditional tequilas, achieving a smooth tasting experience, rounded with notes of oak and vanilla. Our sustainable distilling and production process is recognized by the Tequila Regulatory Council.

ORIGIN

Every small batch of Octavio Tequila begins with the exceptionally pure, spring water of the Volcano of Tequila. After traveling from the top of the volcano to 70 meters beneath its surface, the water is enriched with a perfect balance of minerals that contribute to our signature-tasting tequilas. It’s then combined with agave plants from fields in the Trans-Mexican Volcanic belt in Tequila, Jalisco. Nurtured by semi-arid semi-humid soil, ideal climate conditions, and the perfect altitude, these plants, once paired with naturally fermented Brazilian yeasts, create our rich, refined taste.

CLASSIC TASTE, SUSTAINABLE PRODUCTION

Our appreciation for the gift of land inspired us to put our innovation skills to the test. The result? A distillation process that utilizes 60% less water and 50% less energy than traditional techniques, allowing us to do our part in preserving our land’s precious resources.

But that’s not all. Our unique distillation process is recognized by the Tequila Regulatory Council as part of the most sustainable method of tequila production. As for the classic taste we’re known for, we use only steam and water in our clean, pure liquid extraction process.

OUR FOUNDING STORY

  • Los Barriles, the birthplace of Octavio Tequila, is a small fishing town on the Sea of Cortez in Baja California, Mexico. With exquisite weather and a peaceful atmosphere, Los Barriles offers a perfect balance of small town ambiance and a large sense of community. It was here that a father and son, relaxing on the beach, first envisioned a family-owned tequila.

  • They conversed with a local gentleman throughout their trip and shared with him their dream, speaking the little Spanish they knew at the time. When Octavio Tequila became a reality, they would think about his kindness and remember sipping tequila with him on the shores of Los Barriles.

  • His name? Octavio.
